The Weatherly American Legion Post 360 and Auxiliary Unit 360 will host a series of events to honor Veterans Day on November 11. The day will begin with a program at the Weatherly Area School District at 9 a.m., followed by a ceremony at the memorial monument located in front of Schwab High School at 11 a.m.
After the ceremony, attendees can participate in the “Extravaganza of Prizes” drawing, scheduled for noon at the Legion Post Home. This event will feature a variety of prizes, including gift cards, cash awards, and baskets filled with items donated by local businesses, members of the American Legion family, and community supporters. Tickets for the prize drawing are priced at $5 and can be purchased from members of the Weatherly American Legion family. All proceeds will benefit programs supporting veterans.
The drawing will be open to the public, and winners do not need to be present to claim their prizes. Those interested in participating are encouraged to retain their ticket stubs for prize verification. For further information, individuals can contact Judy Desrosiers at 570-657-5254, Georgia Farrow at 570-427-4527, Ray Desrosiers Jr., vice commander of Post 360, at 570-436-3509, or Paul Bray at 570-401-1654.
This initiative not only celebrates the sacrifices of veterans but also fosters community spirit through generous support from local businesses and residents. The Weatherly American Legion continues to play a vital role in advocating for veterans and their families in the region.
