UPDATE: A serial slasher is on the loose in Brooklyn after carrying out three unprovoked attacks in just 24 hours, prompting a major police manhunt. Authorities have released surveillance images of the suspect, who first struck a 37-year-old man on a subway train early Saturday morning.

The shocking incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on October 21, 2023, when the attacker cut the victim’s face on a Manhattan-bound Q train in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The victim exited at Church Ave. and immediately alerted police, while the assailant continued on the train, reports indicate.

After police sought public assistance in identifying the suspect, he escalated his violence with two more attacks. At around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, he targeted a 53-year-old man near Foster and New York Aves., approximately a mile and a half from the original attack. Just hours later, at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, he struck again, this time a 56-year-old man near Newkirk Ave. and New York Aves.

All three victims were transported to Kings County Hospital and are currently in stable condition, according to police reports.

The NYPD has mobilized extensive resources across several blocks in Flatbush in their search for the suspect, who is described as wearing a navy blue jacket, black shorts, and white sneakers.

This alarming spree of violence comes just days after another subway-related attack in Manhattan, where a man was stabbed during a confrontation on a rush-hour train.
