The University at Buffalo School of Management is set to welcome its Class of 2029 with a festive event on August 22, 2023. This annual gathering will provide new undergraduate students and transfer students an opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, and fellow peers, reinforcing the school’s mission of fostering leadership and community impact.
Ananth Iyer, Dean of the School of Management, will lead the welcome festivities, which aim to create a vibrant atmosphere for the incoming students. The event will take place from 13:00 to 15:30 at the Jacobs Management Center, located in Buffalo, New York. If weather permits, activities will be held outdoors in Paula T. Agrusa Plaza; otherwise, they will be moved indoors.
Attendees can expect a variety of engaging activities designed to break the ice and build connections. Starting at 12:50, students will arrive at Welcome Alley to partake in fun experiences such as mechanical bull rides, human foosball, and even temporary UB-branded tattoos created by an airbrush artist. There will also be opportunities for crafting friendship bracelets, enjoying music from a DJ, and participating in prize draws.
As part of the event, new students will learn about the Introduction to Management for Majors course, which will provide essential insights into their academic journey and connect them with faculty and staff.
