Edward Stephen Andrejko, a cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2025. His legacy of friendship, passion for nature, and dedication to family will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. Andrejko was a long-time resident of Burnt Hills, New York, and more recently lived in Media, Pennsylvania.
Born on May 28, 1936, in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, to parents Anna (Kulek) and Emory Andrejko, he pursued higher education at Penn State in Wilkes-Barre, obtaining an associate degree. He later graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University while employed at General Electric in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. In 1959, he married Gloria Lokuta, and together they raised three children: William, Lorraine, and Anne.
In 1968, the Andrejko family relocated to Burnt Hills, where Edward continued his work with General Electric at the Schenectady complex, focusing on large steam turbines. His professional life was marked by a commitment to excellence, a trait that also characterized his personal life.
Ed had a profound love for the outdoors, instilling in his children and grandchildren a deep respect for nature. In his retirement, he enjoyed activities such as fly fishing, boating, hiking, berry picking, and swimming in Lake George. A proud member of Trout Unlimited, he dedicated his efforts to preserving rivers and streams and the wildlife that inhabit them. Ed found joy in fly fishing alongside friends, whether on the Battenkill River in Vermont or the Yellowstone River in Montana.
His faith was an important aspect of his life. Ed actively participated in community service through the Knights of Columbus and was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville, New York. Recently, he reignited his passion for chess, engaging with friends at his residence in Rose Tree Place, Media.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria; his sister, Mary Ann Novitsky; his children, William Andrejko, Lorraine Isaac, and Anne Andrejko; along with his grandchildren, Rachel Isaac, Harrison Isaac, Lucy Shea, and Margot Shea.
