“It’s a terrible shooting,”

“We have the lowest number of shooting incidents and shooting victims seven months into the year that we’ve seen on record in the city of New York. Something like this is, of course, thank God, an anomaly.”

However, the peaceful atmosphere was shattered by violence when officers recovered at least 36 shell casings from multiple firearms at the scene, indicating a chaotic exchange of gunfire. A separate firearm was also found at the corner of Eastern Parkway, believed to be linked to the incident.
