The beloved series *Ted Lasso* is officially set to return for a fourth season, rekindling excitement among fans who wondered if the show had concluded after its planned three-season arc wrapped in 2023. Created by and starring Jason Sudeikis, the Apple TV+ series follows an American football coach navigating the challenges of coaching a British soccer team. Sudeikis previously stated on the “Fly on the Wall” podcast that the story was meant to end after three seasons, claiming, “This story is done.”

Despite those assertions, the show’s popularity prompted the creators to explore potential spinoffs and additional content. Sudeikis noted that the team had thought about various formats, including podcasts and books, to delve deeper into the themes of the show. In a surprising announcement in March 2025, Sudeikis revealed on the “New Heights” podcast that Season 4 was officially in the works. Apple TV+ confirmed filming had begun over the summer in Kansas City, releasing a first-look photo featuring several returning cast members.

Returning Stars and New Faces

Among the returning cast, Sudeikis will reprise his role as the titular character. Hannah Waddingham is also back as Rebecca, having expressed interest in continuing her role. Juno Temple, who plays Keeley, was spotted in promotional materials, confirming her return as well. Jeremy Swift, known for his portrayal of Leslie, is back in the mix, alongside Brett Goldstein, who will continue to play Roy.

Other returning characters include Brendan Hunt, who takes on the role of Coach Willis. Season 4 will also introduce several new faces, including Tanya Reynolds and Faye Marsay, though details about their characters remain undisclosed. The production also announced that Grant Feely is stepping into the role of Ted’s son, Henry, previously portrayed by Gus Turner.

Uncertainties and Scheduling Conflicts

While many favorites are returning, some notable absences have raised eyebrows. Phil Dunster, who played Jamie, will not be a series regular this season due to a scheduling conflict with a new HBO project. Additionally, Nick Mohammed, who portrayed Nate, has not yet been confirmed for Season 4, despite previously hinting at his involvement.

Fans are also questioning the status of Toheeb Jimoh‘s character, Sam, and James Lance, who played Trent, has not been mentioned in recent press updates. The future of Cristo Fernández, known for his role as Dani Rojas, remains unclear as well, adding to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming season.

As excitement builds for *Ted Lasso* Season 4, fans are eager to see how the story will evolve and which characters will play pivotal roles in this new chapter. The show’s unique blend of humor and heartfelt moments has captured audiences worldwide, and the return promises to deliver more of what has made it a standout series since its debut in 2020.
