More than 20 student-athletes from the Teche Area earned recognition on the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Fall All-Academic list. This achievement highlights the commitment of these athletes to both their academics and their sports. Schools such as Highland Baptist and Hanson Memorial led the local contingent, each with five honorees.

To qualify for the All-Academic honors, student-athletes are required to maintain an unweighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 over six semesters while participating in one or more sports for a minimum of two years. For those achieving Composite Team honors, a perfect GPA of 4.0 across all six semesters is necessary. Each recognized student-athlete will receive an award during their respective sport’s state championship event this season.
