Supriya Ganesh, an emerging star from the HBO Max series The Pitt, recently shared her experiences working with co-star Shawn Hatosy during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. The conversation took place during the Actors Rising event on February 26, 2025, where Ganesh revealed her initial concerns about the collaboration.

Ganesh described a particular scene featuring Hatosy, who was shirtless, and emphasized how much fun they had while filming. “Shawn and I had so much fun playing with that scene. It was really great to work with him,” she remarked. Interestingly, the scene was filmed just one day after Hatosy won his prestigious Emmy award, highlighting the celebratory atmosphere on set.

Despite her enjoyment, Ganesh humorously admitted that she initially thought Hatosy would “hate working” with her, a sentiment she could not fully explain. “All of a sudden, I don’t know why I thought that,” she said. “But then we just got on set and it was just like, ‘Oh, that’s Shawn and he’s great.’ He’s such a gifted and lovely and giving actor. He is so great to work with.”

Success of The Pitt and Fan Reactions

Since its premiere in January 2025, The Pitt has garnered significant acclaim, winning multiple Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The series follows the lives of staff members at a fictional emergency room in Pittsburgh, navigating a demanding 15-hour shift.

Ganesh’s chemistry with Hatosy has not gone unnoticed by fans, who have expressed their desire to see a romantic storyline between their characters, Mohan and Abbot. “I get DMs about it all the time,” she shared. “I got DMs about the bench scene in season 1, and it’s so funny because this was before episode 7 came out.” She teased fans by suggesting that upcoming episodes would feature even more compelling moments between the two characters.

While the on-screen pairing has sparked considerable interest, Ganesh emphasized that the direction of their relationship ultimately rests with the writing team. “It’s whatever the writers think is right. There was a writer in season 1 that was like, ‘Oh, I think these two would be really good together,’” she explained. “Shawn and I leaned in. It’s great that everyone also has supported it. So really, it’s just up to what the writing team wants.”

Looking Ahead to Season 2

As the series progresses into its second season, Ganesh expressed her excitement for Hatosy’s upcoming scenes, particularly one in which he appears shirtless alongside her character. “It’s good for him,” she noted, highlighting their camaraderie and mutual respect as colleagues.

Ganesh acknowledged the complexity of their characters, suggesting that Mohan and Abbot share similarities that could make them a good match. “They’re also messed up in similar ways too. Honestly, I think it’s like pros and cons,” she said, providing insight into the depth of their character development.

New episodes of The Pitt premiere weekly on HBO Max every Thursday, continuing to captivate audiences with its gripping storytelling and character dynamics. Fans eagerly await the unfolding narrative, hoping to see the evolution of Mohan and Abbot’s relationship in the episodes ahead.
