Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have ignited speculation regarding a potential reunion following the appearance of a mysterious billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The billboard prominently displays the original cover art of their 1973 album, Buckingham Nicks, featuring both artists, and notes the date September 19, hinting at an anticipated reissue of the album.

The billboard, strategically located near Sound City Studios, where the record was initially recorded, serves as a nostalgic reminder of the duo’s musical roots. The original album represents their only release as a pair before they joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and has been out of print for decades. While it has never received a digital or vinyl reissue, bootleg versions have circulated among fans, creating an enduring interest in the project.

Adding to the intrigue, both Nicks and Buckingham recently posted on Instagram, sharing lyrics from the song “Frozen Love,” which is featured on the Buckingham Nicks album. Nicks wrote, “And if you go forward…” while Buckingham followed up with, “I’ll meet you there,” completing a line from the song’s chorus. These posts have further fueled speculation about the significance of the billboard and the possibility of a forthcoming announcement.

In a recent development, a page for Buckingham Nicks briefly appeared on the website of Rhino Records, suggesting that a reissue could be imminent. Although the page has since been removed, reports indicate that the URL still exists, maintaining hope among fans for an official confirmation.

The original Buckingham Nicks album has garnered a cult following, and there is optimism that a reissue could include additional material such as alternate takes or live recordings. Among the coveted items is an early version of “Rhiannon,” which fans have long sought after.

While excitement builds over the reissue, some fans are also speculating about the possibility of a joint tour or even a full Fleetwood Mac reunion. However, Nicks has previously stated that the band would not continue without Christine McVie, who passed away in 2022. In a reflection on her relationship with Buckingham, Nicks noted, “The only time I’ve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes,” referencing McVie’s memorial service. She added, “I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.”

The timing of this tease coincides with the recent Fleetwood Mac 50th anniversary celebrations, during which drummer Mick Fleetwood expressed his enthusiasm on Instagram, stating, “It’s magic then, it’s magic now. What a thrill, what a thrill.”

As anticipation grows, representatives for Rhino Records have not provided any comments. Fans will need to wait until September 19 to discover if the long-awaited Buckingham Nicks reissue will finally come to fruition.
