The brackets for the upcoming high school volleyball state tournaments have been officially released by the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA), setting the stage for a series of competitive matches across multiple classifications. The tournaments will kick off on October 22, 2023, with teams from the 1A to 4A divisions vying for the state championship titles.
4A and 3A Tournament Matchups
The 4A state tournament will begin with the first round on October 23, featuring several exciting matchups. Notable games include No. 17 Murray facing No. 16 Uintah at 18:00 and No. 24 Tooele competing against No. 9 Hurricane, also at 18:00. Other noteworthy contests are No. 20 Highland against No. 13 Mountain Crest, and No. 21 Bear River taking on No. 12 Sky View, both scheduled for the same time.
The second round of the 4A tournament will take place on October 27 at Utah Valley University (UVU). The winners from the first round will face off against the top-seeded teams, including No. 1 Orem and No. 2 Desert Hills, at 15:30 and 17:00, respectively.
In the 3A division, the first round will also occur on October 27 at UVU. Matches include No. 16 Ben Lomond against No. 1 North Sanpete at 09:00, and No. 9 Juab versus No. 8 Grantsville, also at 09:00. The tournament promises to be competitive, with several teams looking to make a strong impression.
2A and 1A Tournament Highlights
The 2A state tournament will commence on October 22, featuring No. 17 Rowland Hall against No. 16 South Summit at 18:00. This will be followed by a series of matches, including No. 24 ALA facing No. 9 Maeser Prep. The second round will occur on October 24, where winners will compete at UVU.
Meanwhile, the 1A tournament will also begin on October 22. Key matchups include No. 17 Pinnacle against No. 16 Escalante at 18:00, and No. 20 Bryce Valley taking on No. 13 Altamont. The second round is scheduled for October 24, with matches starting at 09:00.
