The women’s basketball team from State Fair Community College achieved a remarkable milestone by securing their 20th consecutive victory, defeating Mineral Area College 68-62 on March 15, 2025, in Park Hills. The Roadrunners, ranked 12th nationally, faced a significant challenge as the Cardinals rallied multiple times, making the game intensely competitive.

State Fair (20-0, 5-0) demonstrated resilience, overcoming a 14-point lead as they capitalized on 20 turnovers by Mineral Area while committing only 11 themselves. This victory sets the stage for an important matchup against Three Rivers, emphasizing the Roadrunners’ strong position in Region 16.

Ellie Buscher played a crucial role in the win, contributing 15 points and seven rebounds, while Sophia Edwin added 14 points to the scoreboard. The game turned in State Fair’s favor when Buscher hit a key 3-pointer followed by Carolyn Foster converting a layup off consecutive steals, extending the lead to seven points at a critical moment.

Mineral Area (12-8, 1-4) had standout performances as well, with Mariah Dallas leading her team with 18 points. Despite their efforts, the Cardinals struggled from beyond the arc, finishing at just 2-of-18 for the game.
