The latest test flight of SpaceX’s Starship concluded successfully with a splashdown in the Indian Ocean on August 26, 2025. In a post on X, SpaceX highlighted the accomplishments of Flight 10: “Starship made it through reentry with intentionally missing tiles, completed maneuvers to intentionally stress its flaps, had visible damage to its aft skirt and flaps, and still executed a flip and landing burn that placed it approximately 3 meters from its targeted splashdown point.” This precision in landing is a significant milestone, demonstrating the advancements made since previous tests.
Flight 10 also marked the first successful splashdown of 2025 for Ship, which faced challenges during its last three test flights earlier in the year. The upper stage achieved other notable milestones, including successfully reigniting one of its Raptor engines in space. This capability had only been demonstrated once in prior flights.
