BREAKING: Six standout athletes from the Orlando area have emerged at the largest Under Armour Combine in the country, held at Bishop Moore Catholic High School on February 22, 2026. Nearly 800 players participated, all vying for coveted invitations to tomorrow’s exclusive Camp Series event.
Among those receiving invites were Mattheus Kaminski Cordeiro, Jelani Bentley, Troy Turner, Garrison Lubin, Malcom Jones, and Fenway Cochrane. Their performances not only earned them MVP accolades but also significant recognition from college recruiters, marking a pivotal moment in their athletic careers.
For Jelani Bentley, this achievement was bittersweet, as his twin brother, Ari Bentley, did not receive the same recognition. “I just want to give all the glory to God… It is kind of weird, because I’m surprised he was not up here with me,” Jelani shared, highlighting the deep bond between the brothers. Both had stellar seasons at Tavares High School, with Jelani leading the team in tackles.
The combine has opened doors for local talents, which is crucial for schools like Tavares, often overlooked by recruiters. The recent success of Izayia Williams, a former Tavares player now signed with FSU, has begun to shift that perception. “More recruiters are coming, so I think it’s gonna be better for us,” Jelani noted.
Rising junior Mattheus Kaminski Cordeiro, recognized as a defensive line co-MVP, is already ranked No. 4 in the 2028 Sentinel Super60. He expressed his determination, stating, “You always gotta keep progressing… there’s always more you can do to get better.”
Meanwhile, Fenway Cochrane, now a co-MVP on the offensive line, is gaining momentum after recently transferring from West Orange. With a strong track record, he stated, “I just want to prove that I dominate… I’m working every day, spending at least three or four hours on my craft.”
The event also spotlighted Troy Turner, a linebacker from Lake Mary, who is riding high after a state championship win. “I feel like I’ve put in more work and I know I’m fixing to be better this season,” Turner said, showcasing his confidence and commitment.
In addition to the MVPs, Onix Vazquez turned heads with an impressive 40-yard dash time of 4.45 seconds, despite not receiving an invite. “I’m not really disappointed because I know what I did,” he remarked, indicating his resilience and determination to prove himself.
With the combine concluding today, all eyes are now on Sunday’s Camp Series, where these athletes will have another chance to impress college scouts. The stakes are high as they aim for scholarships and a future in college football.
Stay tuned for updates as these Orlando stars continue to rise in the competitive world of high school football.
