BREAKING NEWS: Shorter University has just announced the appointment of Martin “Marty” Ziesemer as its new director of athletics, effective immediately. With over 25 years of experience in collegiate athletics, Ziesemer is poised to make a significant impact on the university’s athletic programs and student athlete development.

Ziesemer has a proven track record of fostering growth and competitive excellence, having held leadership roles at both Corban University and Tabor College. In his previous roles, Ziesemer excelled as both head women’s soccer coach and Vice President for Enrollment Management at Corban, where he implemented strategies that significantly boosted student engagement. He later served as Athletic Director at Tabor College, further honing his skills in program development and staff leadership.
Most recently, Ziesemer worked with BSN Sports, partnering with colleges and school districts to enhance athletic programs and expand resources across a multi-state region. His diverse experience equips him with the tools needed to lead Shorter Athletics into a new era.

Ziesemer holds a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine, a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Corban University.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Ziesemer and his wife, Cindy, are proud parents of two adult children and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, Hadley and Brooks.
