The low-cost carrier will initially operate flights on a limited basis, with departures scheduled for February 23, February 28, March 5, and March 10. Utilizing its two-class, 290-seat Boeing 787-8, ZIPAIR’s service is now the longest nonstop route within its network.

In partnership with Disney Destinations International, package tours to Orlando are available for booking, although travelers should note that food is not included in the ticket price. Cebu Pacific Reestablishes Route to Riyadh

Cebu Pacific has resumed its service between Manila and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, effective March 1. This low-cost carrier will operate a four-times weekly service using a 459-seat Airbus A330-900. The Manila-Riyadh route is vital for the approximately 900,000 Filipinos residing in Saudi Arabia, many of whom work in various sectors such as healthcare and hospitality.

In 2025, the route recorded around 510,000 round-trip passengers, highlighting its importance. With Cebu Pacific’s return, three airlines now operate on this route, providing up to 18 weekly flights. However, there remains no nonstop service from Manila to Dammam, despite the large potential market there.

AJet Expands Presence in the Netherlands

The Turkish low-cost carrier AJet has begun flights to Rotterdam, adding to its existing service to Amsterdam. This new route enhances connectivity for the approximately 50,000 residents of Turkish descent in the Rotterdam area. AJet operates flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, running four to six times weekly, primarily using the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

The addition of Rotterdam marks a significant step for AJet as it continues to expand its services in Europe, competing with established carriers.

Spirit Airlines Resumes Tampa to San Juan Service

Spirit Airlines has recommenced its daily service between Tampa and San Juan, Puerto Rico, after a hiatus. Historically, this route has seen various iterations since its initial launch in 2007. Both routes, operated by SkyWest, will allow passengers to access numerous destinations beyond these hubs. The return of United Express is significant for the community, which has a population of around 27,000.

Scoot Launches New Route to Tokyo Haneda

On March 1, Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, initiated flights from Changi Airport to Tokyo Haneda. This service will operate daily using the Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft. The new route introduces additional competition, as it is now served by four airlines, marking a notable expansion for Scoot within the Asian market.

The daily flights are scheduled to leave Singapore at 17:30 and arrive in Tokyo at 01:00 local time. Return flights depart at 02:15, ensuring convenient options for travelers.

SWISS Introduces A350 to Montreal Route

In a notable equipment change, SWISS has begun operating the Airbus A350-900 on its Zurich to Montreal route. This aircraft replaces the older A330-300, enhancing the passenger experience with a premium economy cabin and improved seating configuration.

Although this is not a new route, the upgrade signifies a commitment to providing better service on long-haul flights. The A350 will operate daily on the route until March 28, when plans indicate a potential return to the A340-300.
