Mobile gaming company Scopely has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Loom, an Istanbul-based studio renowned for developing the mobile puzzle game Pixel Flow!. Launched in late 2025, the game has quickly gained popularity, attracting over 10 million players worldwide.
Founded last year by CEO Kübra Gündoğan and Chief Technology Officer Emre Çelik, Loom’s success with Pixel Flow! is notable, particularly as it became the only casual game released in the past year to enter the monthly top-20 grossing charts in the United States, according to Scopely. While the financial details of the agreement were not publicly disclosed, it is reported that the valuation of Loom exceeds $1 billion, featuring a multi-year, performance-based structure.
Scopely’s Chief Revenue Officer and board member Tim O’Brien commented on the acquisition, stating, “Pixel Flow! is only a few months into its journey, yet it’s already reached millions of players and climbed the top-grossing charts at remarkable speed.” He expressed confidence in Loom’s creative potential and emphasized Scopely’s commitment to bringing world-class gaming teams into its ecosystem.
Gündoğan shared the studio’s vision, saying, “Our focus as a team has always been on developing games that deliver innovative and distinctive experiences.” She highlighted that the positive reception of Pixel Flow! has been rewarding and reaffirmed their alignment with Scopely. “Their unique ecosystem will allow us to maintain our creative autonomy while also learning from each other,” she added.
The acquisition enhances Scopely’s presence in Turkey, recognized as a vibrant gaming hub in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. Akin Babayigit, managing director at Arcadia Gaming Partners, remarked on the rapid growth of Loom, stating, “Having invested in the company just months ago, to exit at a billion-dollar-plus valuation is a phenomenal result.” He acknowledged Scopely’s track record in transforming games into global franchises, positioning this investment as beneficial for Loom’s future development.
This partnership not only signifies a strategic move for Scopely but also marks a significant milestone for Loom, establishing it among the latest Turkish startups to achieve unicorn status. The collaboration aims to leverage both companies’ strengths to foster innovation and long-term player engagement within the competitive mobile gaming market.
