UPDATE: The Roxborough Rebels 8U baseball team just clinched a dramatic 9-8 victory over the North Penn Raiders in the closing match of the Stars and Stripes Tournament held in Harleysville, marking a thrilling end to their 2025 season.
The intense game, filled with excitement, saw the Rebels pull ahead in an electrifying finish. With the score tied at 8-8 and two outs, Rory Pendergast found himself racing for second base after an infield hit. An errant throw from the North Penn first baseman sailed into the outfield, allowing Pendergast to sprint home and secure the win for the Rebels without missing a beat.
After this nail-biting triumph, Pendergast took to the mound and showcased his skills by retiring the Raiders in the next inning. He executed a critical 1-3 double play on a caught liner, ending the game with a flourish.
In a follow-up match, the Rebels continued their strong performance, decisively defeating the Hatfield Towamencin Titans 16-1. However, an earlier defeat of 11-7 against the Harleysville Hornets prevented them from advancing to the tournament semifinals.
Despite the setback, the Rebels concluded their campaign with an impressive 10-9-1 record in a highly competitive tournament landscape. Coach Joe Brogan and his dedicated team members—including Joe Gidjunis, Will Hummel, Tom Ballingall III, Ryan Sowisdral, and Anthony “Pepe” DiBricida—have been instrumental in fostering the growth and development of these young athletes.
The roster featured a close-knit group of players, including Tommy Ballingall IV, RJ Sowisdral, Isaac Jehanian, Liam Hummel, Rocco Cylc, Bennett Ward, Damian Mangaroo, Will Sellers, Declan Morrison, Gage Gidjunis, Teddy Mikel, and Jackson Brogan.
This thrilling finish not only capped off a successful season but also highlighted the resilience and teamwork of the young Rebels, leaving fans eager for what the future holds.
