The 2026 Rose Parade is set to be a grand affair, with Serena Guo crowned as the 107th Rose Queen during a ceremony held at the Tournament House in Pasadena on October 28, 2025. Guo, alongside her fellow princesses, represents a diverse and accomplished group of young women who will participate in numerous community events leading up to the parade.
On December 2, 2025, the Rose Court gathered for a lunch hosted by the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce. There, the princesses engaged with attendees, sharing their aspirations and experiences in the community. This event highlighted the court’s commitment to service and connection within the local area.
Introducing the 2026 Rose Court
The 2026 Rose Court consists of seven young women, each aged between 17 and 21, who exemplify academic excellence and community involvement. To qualify, candidates must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and be full-time students within the Pasadena Area Community College District or specified surrounding areas.
Guo, currently a senior at Arcadia High School, is dedicated to community service through her work with the Foothill Unity Center, which provides essential services to those experiencing homelessness. In addition to her volunteer efforts, she is actively involved in debate and aspires to pursue a career in law with a focus on justice and equality. She plans to further her education at a prestigious university, including Stanford University or UC Berkeley.
Each member of the Rose Court brings unique qualities to their roles. For example, Livia dePaula serves as president of the Associated Student Body at Temple City High School and is an advocate for English learners. Meanwhile, Riya Gupta is the first Caltech student to be part of the court, studying mechanical engineering and conducting research on public health.
Community Engagement and Events
The Rose Court will participate in nearly 100 community and media events from October 2025 to January 1, 2026, culminating in their appearance during the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game. Notably, the court made a significant visit to the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center on November 20, 2025, where they learned about cutting-edge medical technology and engaged with cancer patients.
This year’s court is particularly noteworthy as it includes two college students, marking the first time in over a decade that current college students have served. Additionally, it features the first student from Caltech and the first current student from Alhambra High School, reflecting a commitment to inclusion and representation.
As the Rose Parade approaches, the excitement surrounding the court continues to build. Each princess has her own story, with aspirations that range from pursuing careers in law, nursing, and aerospace engineering to advocating for youth empowerment and community service.
Through their various initiatives and public appearances, the 2026 Rose Court aims to inspire and uplift their communities, bringing joy and celebration to the upcoming Rose Parade festivities.
