Rondout Valley High School’s field hockey team showcased an impressive performance on October 9, 2023, defeating Our Lady of Lourdes by a commanding score of 8-0. With this victory, Rondout Valley remains unbeaten in the Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL), improving its record to 7-0 in league play and 11-1 overall.

Leading the charge for Rondout Valley was Audrey Dennin, who scored a hat trick, contributing significantly to the team’s offensive dominance. Other players who found the back of the net included Haylee Henebery, Samantha Schneller, Ziging Liu, Adrianna Moran, and Ella Schoonmaker. The team’s offensive strategy was evident as they outshot Our Lady of Lourdes with a staggering 30-0 advantage in shots on goal and secured 16 corners compared to their opponent’s zero.

The defensive efforts were equally noteworthy, with Sienna Sergio earning a shutout in goal, effectively neutralizing any offensive threats from Our Lady of Lourdes throughout the match. The game demonstrated Rondout Valley’s well-rounded capabilities, showcasing both skill and teamwork.

In another match within the MHAL, Taconic Hills achieved a solid victory over Onteora, winning 4-0. The Lady Titans secured their win with two goals each from Adele Crayton and Calee Nowak, further highlighting the competitive nature of the league.
