UPDATE: A serious rollover incident involving a travel trailer on Interstate 95 in North Hampton, New Hampshire, has resulted in the closure of multiple lanes this afternoon. The accident occurred at 1:50 p.m. on September 18, 2023, when a travel trailer being towed by a pickup truck overturned near mile marker 7.6.
According to authorities, Karen Lach, 74, from Waukesha, Wisconsin, was driving a 2025 Nissan Frontier while towing a 2025 Grand Design travel trailer. The trailer reportedly began to sway, leading to a loss of control that caused it to overturn, blocking several lanes of the southbound interstate. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Emergency responders, including State Troopers and local police and fire departments, worked diligently to clear the scene. The closure of three southbound lanes lasted approximately two hours, with all lanes reopening at 3:46 p.m.. The pickup truck sustained minor damage, while the travel trailer was left extensively damaged.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation is assisting with traffic management as investigations into the cause of the trailer swaying continue. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Trooper Alison Baumbach.
