Resideo Technologies, Inc. has sold its Grid Services demand response business to EnergyHub, a prominent provider of grid-edge flexibility solutions. The transaction, announced on December 2, 2025, allows Resideo to sharpen its focus on its core strategy of developing residential controls and sensing products. This divestiture primarily serves utility clients and is expected to enhance both companies’ operational capabilities in managing energy loads efficiently.
The acquisition marks a significant expansion for EnergyHub, which already collaborates with over 120 utilities serving more than 55 million customers. By integrating Resideo’s Grid Services, EnergyHub aims to strengthen its ability to manage connected devices, including thermostats, electric vehicles, and batteries, through a unified Edge Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS). This system is designed to ensure reliable and cost-effective service for utility customers.
Dave Oberholzer, General Manager at Resideo Grid Services, expressed pride in the team’s achievements and emphasized the benefits of joining forces with EnergyHub. He stated, “By joining forces with EnergyHub, we will be able to offer our utility clients a broader ecosystem of DERs and leverage our winning platforms and talented team to accelerate the transition to a carbon-free grid.”
The specific financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, Resideo confirmed that this divestiture will not materially affect its financial outlook for 2025, which was shared with investors on November 5, 2025. The company plans to use the proceeds from the sale for general corporate purposes, aligning with its previously stated capital allocation priorities.
