N. Louis “Lou” Capetola, aged 89, of Malvern, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. His life was marked by dedication, service, and an enduring love for family and the outdoors. Born on May 14, 1936, he was the eldest son of the late Angelo and Antoinette (Giurastante) Capetola.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry, Lou served his country with distinction. Following his military service, he graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1964, laying the foundation for a successful professional career. Lou devoted over 50 years to MassMutual, where he held the position of Chief Investment Specialist for many years, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success.
Lou was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly his lifelong passion for gardening. He took pride in his roots in Cedar Hollow and celebrated his Italian heritage throughout his life. Travel, Penn State football, theater, and art were also central to his interests, reflecting his vibrant personality and zest for life.
He is predeceased by his parents and his longtime partner, Marlene Wechsler. Lou is survived by his brother, Emil Capetola (Elizabeth McMurtrie), his sister, Melina (Capetola) Kendig, along with one nephew and six nieces, who will carry his memory forward.
A Mass in celebration of Lou’s life will take place at 11:30 AM on December 10, 2025, at St. Patrick Church in Malvern. Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to honor Lou’s legacy during this time of remembrance.
