Elece E. Scott, a cherished member of the Williamsburg community, passed away on September 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and her work. Born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, she was raised by her mother, Rebecca R. Davidson, and step-father, Jewell N. Davidson. Her commitment to family and community defined her life.
After attending Murray State University, Elece married Beverly (Bev) Hester Scott in 1967. The couple initially settled in Warrenton, Virginia, where they welcomed their four children. Approximately 40 years ago, they moved to Williamsburg, a place that would become central to Elece’s identity and passions.
During her professional life, Elece dedicated more than 30 years to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation before retiring in 2023. Her work at this historic institution reflected her deep appreciation for the culture and history of Virginia. Elece was known for her warmth and connection to the Williamsburg community, where she made enduring friendships and contributions.
Elece is survived by her four children: Angela Scott Wallander (Bill), Christian Hunter Scott, Beverly (Chip) Hester Scott II (Stefanie), and Raleigh Clay Scott. She also leaves behind two granddaughters, Dee Wallander Rindt and Becky Scott Schultz, along with three grandsons, Wesley Scott, Willem Scott, and Wyatt Scott. Elece took immense pride in her four great-grandchildren, with whom she had a special bond.
In addition to her immediate family, Elece is survived by her sister, Dixie D. Wolf, of Williamsburg, and brother, Donald J. Davidson, of Richmond. Her husband, Bev, preceded her in death, but their love and shared history remain a significant part of her legacy.
