UPDATE: The winning numbers for the enormous $700 million Powerball jackpot were just drawn on Saturday night, igniting excitement across the nation. The numbers are: 11, 14, 34, 47, 51, and the red Powerball 18.
This staggering jackpot marks a major milestone as it is the largest Powerball prize of the year. The lucky winner now faces a choice between receiving the full jackpot in annual installments over 29 years or opting for a one-time cash payout of $316.3 million before taxes.
The drawing comes after 36 consecutive rounds without a grand prize winner, the longest stretch since a $204.5 million ticket was claimed in California on May 31. In the previous drawing on Wednesday, numbers drawn were 31, 59, 62, 65, 68, and Powerball 5, but no one matched all six.
Despite the absence of a jackpot winner, Wednesday’s drawing yielded significant wins for others. A player from Tennessee matched five numbers and opted for the Power Play, securing a substantial $2 million prize. Additionally, two other tickets matched five numbers, each winning $1 million. A total of 30 tickets won $50,000 by matching four numbers plus the Powerball, with eight of those doubling their prize to $100,000 through the Power Play option.
The current jackpot is not only the largest of 2025 but also surpasses most previous prizes this year. However, it still trails behind the remarkable $1.3 billion jackpot claimed by Cheng “Charlie” Saephan in Oregon last April. The second-highest prize in 2025 reached a value of $526.5 million, won by a ticket holder in California.
Players can buy tickets for $2 in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Many states now offer online purchasing options through official channels or licensed services. The next drawing is scheduled for 10:59 p.m. ET on Saturday.
For an additional dollar, players can add the Power Play option, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Some states even offer a separate Double Play option, allowing participants to enter a second drawing for a chance at an additional $10 million.
