In a crucial matchup, Oregon State overcame a five-point deficit during the final eight minutes, holding the Gaels (9-6, 0-2) to just three field goals. The Beavers executed flawlessly at the free-throw line, going an impressive 14 of 14 in the fourth quarter alone.
The pivotal moment occurred early in the fourth, with OSU trailing 45-40. The Beavers launched a decisive 9-0 run over five minutes, taking control of the game. Both teams fought hard, with Saint Mary’s and Oregon State shooting equally at 40% from the field. However, the Beavers’ ability to capitalize on free throws proved to be the game-changer, as they netted 19 of 24 attempts from the line.
Oregon State’s standout players, including Kennedie Shuler, Jenna Villa, and Tiara Bolden, combined for 39 points, each scoring in double figures. Villa led the way with a game-high 16 points, while Bolden and Shuler added 13 and 10 points, respectively.
