Olean General Hospital (OGH) and Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) are collaborating with ConnectLife to host community blood drives this month. These initiatives aim to encourage local residents to donate blood, a vital resource that can significantly impact the lives of others.

Olean General Hospital is holding its blood drive today, December 1, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place on the ConnectLife Bus, located at the Mildred Milliman Outpatient Surgery Center, directly across from the hospital. Individuals interested in donating can schedule an appointment by visiting connectlifegiveblood.org and using sponsor code 000485, or by calling (716) 529-4270.

The blood drive at Bradford Regional Medical Center is set for Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby. For appointments, donors can also utilize connectlifegiveblood.org with sponsor code 000468, or reach out to Kim Murphey at (814) 362-8298.

Each pint of donated blood has the potential to save up to three lives in the local community, underscoring the importance of these drives. Throughout December, donors will receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming Buffalo Sabres home game as a token of appreciation for their contributions.

In an exciting new initiative, ConnectLife has introduced the “Suite Seats for Life Savers” promotion. This offer runs until December 31, 2023, allowing donors who meet specific criteria to enter a draw for a suite at Highmark Stadium for the Buffalo Bills final regular season game. To qualify, participants must complete either two whole blood donations and one double red cell donation or four platelet donations during the promotional period.

These blood drives not only provide essential resources for hospitals but also foster a sense of community involvement. Residents are encouraged to participate and contribute to a cause that can save lives, making a meaningful difference in their neighborhoods.
