Netflix has officially released the first full trailer for Season 3 of the highly anticipated series, Alice in Borderland. The latest installment, set to debut on September 25, 2025, continues the gripping narrative that has captured audiences since its launch in 2020. This season promises fresh challenges and original storylines, diverging from the manga by Haro Aso that initially inspired the series.

The trailer showcases the protagonists, Arisu and Usagi, as they navigate the treacherous realm of Borderland once again. The high-stakes games return, with the appearance of the enigmatic “Joker” stage, which is expected to heighten the tension and drama throughout the season. Viewers catch glimpses of intense scenes, including a train crash and a dice game, as well as the dramatic imagery of a shrine under a barrage of flaming arrows.

Character Dynamics and New Challenges

In this season, Arisu and Usagi are separated and must form alliances with new characters to survive the increasingly perilous games. Kento Yamazaki, who plays Arisu, expressed his fascination with the evolving dynamics among the characters. He noted, “Since Arisu and Usagi are split into separate teams, I found it interesting to see the different atmospheres and character dynamics within each group. Over the seasons, the characters have become so beloved by fans, and I think that’s why the audience can really empathize with them during the life-or-death moments.”

Tao Tsuchiya, portraying Usagi, emphasized the significance of her character’s journey. “Everything Usagi has experienced in the past seasons is now part of her story, so whenever I needed to, I would go back and rewatch Seasons 1 and 2. With Season 3 featuring an original story, I felt it was important to approach this role with everything that’s happened so far in mind.”

The introduction of the “Joker” stage appears to be a pivotal aspect of Season 3, with Yamazaki recalling how the flaming arrows sequence was a striking element in the original manga. He remarked, “When I read the manga, I was blown away by the flaming arrows. When I saw the script for this scene, I thought, ‘It’s here!’”

An Unforgettable Experience Awaits

As the tension builds, Tsuchiya encouraged fans to pay special attention to the dice game, stating, “As the players become more desperate, everyone’s performances become more intense and dramatic. I think this game really captures the essence of Alice in Borderland.”

With a dedicated fanbase eagerly awaiting the new season, Alice in Borderland continues to be a standout success for Netflix, marking it as one of Japan’s most-watched shows. The excitement surrounding its return is palpable, and viewers can anticipate an exhilarating journey filled with unexpected twists and gripping challenges.

Season 3 of Alice in Borderland will be available for streaming on Netflix starting September 25, 2025.
