URGENT UPDATE: A series of alarming incidents have been reported across Salisbury, with multiple assaults and fraud cases emerging in just the last week. The Salisbury Police Department is actively investigating these cases, which include assaults with dangerous weapons and incidents of theft.
At 10:55 a.m. on January 23, authorities confirmed an assault with a dangerous weapon in the 600 block of Mocksville Avenue. Following this, another assault occurred at 5:45 p.m. the same day in the 500 block of Lash Drive. The situation escalated with an assault involving a firearm reported at 10:30 a.m. on January 24 in the 300 block of Gold Hill Drive.
In addition to the assaults, a troubling case of extortion was reported between January 19 and January 22 in the 200 block of Circle Drive, with authorities estimating a loss of $3,500. Another incident of fraud resulted in a reported loss of $307, occurring in the 200 block of Pearl Street and reported on January 26.
Among the arrests, Jaxon Robert Wayne Frye, aged 38, faces charges for felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, while Ruqayyah Qurisha Gray, 33, and Antonio Jerome Kight, 30, have been charged with felony conspiracy to commit a felony. Additionally, James Jermaine Bristow, 26, was charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office also reported significant incidents, including a case of fraud on Statesville Boulevard between November 22, 2025 and January 21, 2026, and various assaults and drug-related offenses throughout the week.
These developments are just the latest in a string of criminal activities that have raised concerns in the community. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
