After falling behind two sets, the Dragons rallied to win three consecutive sets, ultimately finishing the match 20-25, 19-25, 25-11, 25-20, and 16-14. This victory marks their fourth win of the season, keeping their record unblemished at 4-0.
In a decisive third set, the Dragons took control early and never looked back. A service ace by Leah Laqua propelled the team from a narrow 4-3 lead to a commanding 10-4 advantage. The momentum clearly shifted in favor of Minnesota State Moorhead, allowing them to dominate the set and set the stage for the final two games.
Earlier that day, the Dragons faced Southwest Baptist University, winning in four sets with scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-20, and 25-17. Junior Raiah Mandell led the charge with 13 kills, showcasing her ability to perform under pressure.
In the match against Dallas Baptist, Brielle Riess had a standout performance, contributing 17 kills to the team’s success. Laqua not only excelled on offense but also made her mark defensively with six blocks.
