Midwest Therapy Center has unveiled an expanded array of mental health services following a significant renovation of its office space in Dickinson, North Dakota. The center is now better equipped to serve individuals aged 10 and above, offering couples therapy alongside its partnership with Midwest Psychiatric Care for medication management.
Jessica Landis, the founder of Midwest Therapy Center, emphasized that one of the primary objectives of the practice is to minimize wait times for clients seeking therapy. “My goal is to have availability because people have needs,” Landis explained. “People say, ‘yes, I’m ready for that next step,’ and it can be hard to sit and wait.”
Along with her colleagues, Amber Bruer and Emmi Braun, Landis brings extensive experience in addressing various mental health challenges. The team is skilled in treating issues such as trauma, dual diagnoses, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety. Landis holds a bachelor’s degree from Minot State University and a master’s from Boise State University. Her passion for serving others was shaped by her upbringing in rural North Dakota, where she worked extensively with the geriatric population in skilled nursing facilities.
“I had experience with individuals with traumatic brain injuries, many of whom had addiction issues,” Landis recalled. “There were just so many pieces to each of their stories that really influenced my career path.”
Since launching her private practice in 2022, Landis has introduced a new therapeutic approach this summer called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). This method is designed to assist individuals in reframing distressing memories, effectively reducing emotional and physical reactions associated with them.
“ART is a gentle, effective approach that helps your brain reframe distressing memories so they no longer trigger the same emotional or physical reaction,” Landis said. “You’ll still remember what happened — but without the heaviness that’s been weighing you down. Many people notice big changes in just 1–5 sessions.”
ART can address various issues, including performance anxiety, phobias, grief, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
