Metrolink, the regional rail agency serving Southern California, has announced the introduction of a $10 SoCal Day Pass for the upcoming holiday season. This pass allows unlimited rides throughout the extensive Metrolink network on both Christmas and New Year’s Day.
The SoCal Day Pass is available for purchase on the day of travel, providing access to Metrolink’s 545-mile rail system, which spans six counties. It includes connections via the Arrow service, linking San Bernardino and Redlands. On these holidays, trains will follow a weekend schedule across all lines, with the exception of the Riverside Line, which does not operate on weekends or select holidays.
Convenient Access and Travel Options
Passengers can buy the SoCal Day Pass through the Metrolink mobile app or at any station ticket machine. This year, Metrolink will not offer special early morning services as in previous years. Travelers are encouraged to sign up for Metrolink Alerts to receive timely updates regarding service changes via email or text.
To assist riders, Metrolink will provide clear signage at stations and digital displays to guide passengers to the correct platforms. Once on board, travelers can listen for overhead announcements that will detail upcoming station stops. Additionally, Metrolink offers free transfers to local transit agencies, including Los Angeles Metro, to facilitate first- and last-mile connections.
By implementing these initiatives, Metrolink aims to enhance the travel experience during the busy holiday season. The availability of the $10 pass is designed to encourage more residents and visitors to explore the region without the hassle of traffic and parking.
As the holidays approach, Metrolink’s affordable and convenient service may become an appealing option for those looking to enjoy festive activities across Southern California.
