METABORA, a global developer of casual games, has entered a strategic partnership with LINE NEXT Inc., a venture of LINE Corporation focused on advancing the global Web3 ecosystem. This collaboration, announced on July 13, 2025, aims to enhance the distribution of Web3 games through LINE’s Dapp Portal, significantly expanding METABORA’s reach in the gaming sector.
Expanding Access to Web3 Gaming
The Dapp Portal operates within the LINE Messenger app, allowing users to access a variety of Mini Dapps—decentralized applications—without the need for separate installations. Since its launch in January 2025, the platform has gained considerable traction, attracting over 100 million cumulative users.
Under this partnership, METABORA will leverage its extensive network of development partners and experience in game publishing to supply Web3 games to the Dapp Portal. Meanwhile, LINE NEXT will enhance accessibility and market these games through its platform, creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem.
As part of their collaboration, METABORA plans to broaden the utility of its BORA token within the Mini Dapp ecosystem. The company is set to implement a payment infrastructure that allows users to purchase in-game items from upcoming titles under the BORA brand.
Innovative Payment Solutions and Future Developments
In an effort to streamline transactions, METABORA will introduce Gas Abstraction technology. This innovation enables users to make in-app purchases using BORA tokens without needing KAIA tokens to cover gas fees. The implementation of this feature is expected in the latter half of 2025.
By enhancing the functionality of the BORA token, METABORA aims to establish its value beyond the BORA Chain, fostering greater integration throughout the Web3 landscape. Additionally, the companies are exploring infrastructure development to support stable coins such as USDT, further enriching the gaming experience within the LINE ecosystem.
