Maximo Perrone has officially transferred from Manchester City to Serie A club Como for a fee that could reach up to €15 million. The agreement includes a 30 percent sell-on clause and a buy-back option for Manchester City, ensuring the Premier League side retains some control over the young Argentine’s future.
Perrone, who is 22 years old, originally joined Manchester City from Velez Sarsfield for approximately £8 million in 2023. His time at City has seen limited opportunities, with only two appearances for the club. However, he showcased his potential during loan spells, most recently making 26 appearances for Como last season under the management of former footballer Cesc Fabregas.
Como has made significant strides in Serie A, finishing 10th in the league last season, marking their return to Italy’s top flight after a 21-year absence. The club has actively sought to strengthen its squad this summer, adding several young talents alongside Perrone. New recruits include Jesus Rodriguez from Real Betis, Nicholas Kuhn from Celtic, Martin Baturina from Dinamo Zagreb, and Jayden Addai from AZ Alkmaar.
The addition of Perrone is seen as a strategic move for Como as they aim to build on last season’s success. His experience in competitive environments, coupled with his youth, aligns well with the club’s vision for growth and development. As the Serie A season approaches, both Como and Perrone will be looking to make a significant impact on the pitch.
