UPDATE: Seattle Mariners are on the brink of a significant boost as pitcher Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles inch closer to returning from injuries. General Manager Justin Hollander provided an update on their recovery just ahead of the Mariners’ crucial series opener against the Chicago White Sox today.

Miller, who has struggled with right elbow inflammation, is scheduled to make his second rehab start on Thursday with Triple-A Tacoma. Hollander indicated that while Miller is eager to return, he will likely need one more rehab start. “No matter how much Bryce begs for that to be the last one,” Hollander commented, adding, “Stuff looked top of the scale. He told me that was the best he’s felt, including Day 1 of spring training.”

Meanwhile, Robles, who has been sidelined since April due to a dislocated left shoulder, is expected to begin his rehab assignment on August 12. Currently batting .273 with three RBIs in 44 at-bats this season, Robles will initially participate in designated hitter duties before transitioning back to the outfield. “Replicate spring training all over again,” Hollander noted regarding Robles’ return strategy.

In addition to Miller and Robles, hopes are high for infielder Ryan Bliss, who is aiming for a rehab assignment in September. Utilityman Luke Raley, who was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 27, has begun hitting progression and could potentially rejoin the team as early as this weekend against Tampa Bay.

Furthermore, Hollander confirmed that reliever Trent Thornton successfully underwent surgery for an Achilles injury but faces a lengthy recovery period of six to eight months.

The Mariners are looking to capitalize on the return of key players as they push through the remaining weeks of the season. Fans and analysts alike are eagerly awaiting these developments, which could significantly impact the team’s performance in the upcoming games.

Stay tuned for more updates as these players progress in their rehabilitation and rejoin the Mariners’ lineup.
