BREAKING: The Los Alamitos High School football team has ignited excitement in Southern California with a stunning 7-0 record this season, showcasing teamwork and discipline that has captivated fans and experts alike. Under the guidance of Coach Ray Fenton, the players demonstrated unwavering focus during practice, crucial for maintaining their winning streak.

The scene was set at Calabasas High, where players stood mesmerized by Fenton, revealing a strong bond and commitment to the game. “Everyone has their eye on coach,” said offensive lineman Braiden McKenna. “It’s all the little things that keep you disciplined.” This dedication is key to their success, despite the lack of preseason hype.

Los Alamitos has proven that they are not short on talent. Tight end Beckham Hofland, standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 230 pounds, has emerged as a formidable presence on the field and doubles as a kicker. Running backs Kamden Tillis and Lenny Ibarra have showcased versatility, while quarterback Colin Creason continues to improve after transferring from Long Beach Poly. The team’s defense is led by Ibarra, who has accumulated 66 tackles this season.

The camaraderie among the players is palpable, as McKenna noted, “It’s so much easier to want to win with someone you care about.” This season marks a shift for Los Alamitos, as the team is primarily homegrown, contrasting with previous years that relied heavily on transfers. Fenton emphasized the importance of community: “You play harder with guys you’re friends with. You don’t want to let them down.”

In a thrilling victory, Los Alamitos triumphed over a Hawaii team, winning 34-31 thanks to game-winning field goals by Ibarra, who practiced kicking between palm trees at a local park. They also defeated Gardena Serra 42-21 and edged out Granite Hills 49-42.

As they head into a two-week break, Los Alamitos prepares for a challenging stretch against three strong Alpha League opponents: Edison at SoFi Stadium on October 16, 2023, San Clemente on October 24, 2023, and Mission Viejo on October 30, 2023 at Artesia. The team’s performance positions them as serious contenders for the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

Fenton encapsulated the essence of their journey: “This is throwback. It’s old school. Play for your local school, play for your community, play for your friends.” With every game, Los Alamitos continues to defy expectations, driven by a hunger to succeed and a deep-rooted passion for their school and community.

Fans and supporters eagerly await what lies ahead, as the team’s momentum builds toward potential playoff glory.
