The Wilkes-Barre area is buzzing with a variety of community events this November, offering residents and visitors alike opportunities to engage in local culture, enjoy delicious food, and participate in festive activities. On November 1, the Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church will hold a Turkey Fest dinner from noon to 4 p.m. at their school hall located at 635 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre. The traditional turkey dinner, priced at $15 for adults and $9 for children, includes a basket raffle. While walk-ins are welcome, reservations are strongly encouraged. Election Day and Community Gatherings
On November 4, Holy Trinity Orthodox Church will organize an Election Day food sale from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre. The menu will feature popular items such as porketta sandwiches, chili, and chicken pot pie soup, providing a hearty meal for those coming out to vote.
Later in the month, the Laity Organization of the Oblates of St. Joseph Seminary will hold their monthly meeting on November 5, following the 7 p.m. Mass and devotions. The meeting will take place at the Oblates of St. Joseph Seminary, located at 1880 Route 315, Laflin, with Dr. Alyce M. Zura presiding and The Rev. Joseph D. Sibilano serving as spiritual advisor. New members are welcome to join the discussion.
Another highlight will be the Holy Redeemer designer purse and cash bingo event, scheduled for November 8. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with games commencing at 1 p.m. in the Holy Redeemer High School gymnasium. Tickets are priced at $25 in advance or $30 at the door, which includes over 10 games. Participants can also enjoy food and drinks on-site, with a grand prize of $1,000 and a basket raffle featuring prizes worth more than $4,000.

The Hudson Model Railroad Club will host an open house every weekend from November 22-23 and 29-30, as well as December 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28, continuing through January 3-4 and 10-11. On the weekends of November 22-23, St. Maria Goretti Parish Hall in Laflin will host a holiday craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can browse over 25 vendors offering handmade crafts and unique gifts.
Finally, art enthusiasts can visit the “Mary Lou Steinberg, Looking Back, Moving Forward” retrospective exhibition, which will be on display until November 28 at the Marquis Second Floor Gallery on South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Residents can also purchase the Wilkes-Barre Township 250th Commemoration Book at the municipal building for $25, with checks or money orders made payable to Wilkes-Barre Township.
