UPDATE: Linda Ann Hansen, a cherished resident of Charles City, Iowa, peacefully passed away on December 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. This urgent news comes as the community mourns the loss of a woman known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Monday, December 22, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m., beginning with the praying of the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects prior to the funeral Mass scheduled for Tuesday, December 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Following the service, burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City, with a luncheon honoring Linda at the church’s social hall.
Linda was born on October 8, 1944, and was a lifelong member of the Charles City community. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School in 1962 and married her soulmate, Duane Hansen, in 1963. Their enduring love story, spanning over 62 years, serves as an inspiring testament to commitment and family values.
Together, Linda and Duane raised three children: James Anthony Hansen, who brought joy and energy to their lives; Gary Duane Hansen, whose courageous spirit profoundly impacted the family; and Teresa Ann Hansen, whose spirited presence filled their home with laughter. Linda’s nurturing nature made her a beloved figure not just to her family but to the entire community.
Linda’s legacy lives on through her four granddaughters and ten great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was renowned for her kindness, often seen sharing home-cooked meals, listening to others, and nurturing relationships that spanned generations. Her gatherings were filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments, especially during holidays and game days, where she and Duane celebrated their devotion to the Green Bay Packers.
Her faith was a guiding force, influencing her family’s values and providing a foundation of love, forgiveness, and community spirit. Linda was a beacon of grace, embodying the teachings of her Catholic faith in all her interactions.
Linda is survived by her husband, Duane; two children, Jim (Lori) Hansen of Nashua and Teresa (Dennie) VanHauen of Charles City; four granddaughters; and ten great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and family unity.
