BREAKING NEWS: Lego has just announced the launch of an exciting new set inspired by the beloved film The Goonies, featuring the legendary pirate ship, the Inferno. This incredible 2,912-piece set will be available for early access on November 1, 2023, with a full release on November 4, 2023, priced at $309.99.

This detailed diorama recreates key scenes from the classic 1985 adventure film, including the Fratellis’ hideout, the Bone Organ, and One-Eyed Willy’s treasure room. The set is packed with 12 minifigures, including fan favorites like Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Andy, and Data. Notably, it features new molded pieces for Sloth’s pirate hat and Mama Fratelli’s beret.

To celebrate the set’s launch, Lego enlisted Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, who portrayed Data in the original film. Quan stars in a nostalgic mini-film that guides fans through the set, highlighting its Easter eggs and sharing behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the film’s original Inferno reveal. Quan recounted, “When the time came to film the reveal, they had us walk in backwards… Only Josh (Brolin) had to film a re-take, as he let out a curse in excitement the first time around!”

Designed by Greek 3D artist Vaggelis Ntezes through Lego’s fan-submission program, the project reflects a personal connection to childhood memories. “In designing this set, I revisited my childhood memories – growing up in the ’80s,” Ntezes stated, expressing his desire to create something that balances nostalgia with playability.

Fans who purchase the set during the early access period will receive a bonus 179-piece Goonies: The Walsh’ Attic set, which recreates the attic scene where the kids discover the treasure map.

As one of the most cherished adventure films of the ’80s, The Goonies continues to captivate audiences. The movie remains a streaming favorite on Max, and Warner Bros. is currently developing a sequel. For now, fans can immerse themselves in the adventure brick by brick.

This announcement is generating buzz among Lego enthusiasts and Goonies fans alike, making it a must-have collectible that combines creativity with nostalgia. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of cinematic history!
