The Lakes Area Patriots has recently donated $3,500 to Health Resources of Detroit Lakes, a non-profit organization focused on delivering essential health services to women and families in the surrounding area. This contribution aims to bolster the center’s prenatal care education programs, ultrasound services, and parenting classes, ensuring that healthcare remains accessible to all local residents regardless of their financial circumstances.
Supporting Community Health Services
According to a news release from the Patriots, the funds will directly support vital services that are crucial for many women and families in the community. Wally Mueller, chair of the Lakes Area Patriots, emphasized the importance of these services, stating, “Access to services provided by Health Resources is vital to many women and families in this community. We are proud to support their crucial work and hope this contribution helps them continue their mission of empowering women and strengthening families.”
The decision to donate was influenced by a challenge from another local organization that had contributed funds to the Becker County Food Pantry. In response, the board of the Lakes Area Patriots unanimously agreed to make a similar donation to what they deemed a worthy cause. Mueller remarked, “We found no cause more worthy than that of providing expectant and new mothers with the support and resources available from this wonderful organization.”
