Kylie Kelce is transitioning from breastfeeding to formula as she prepares to wean her youngest daughter, Finn. During the December 18, 2023, episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, Kelce shared her experience, stating, “I’m currently in the midst of weaning Finny.” The mother of four candidly admitted that the weaning process has been challenging, noting, “It’s not going great because … it’s not going.”

Kelce indicated that Finn is about to cut a tooth, which has influenced her decision to stop breastfeeding. “As selfish as this may sound, that’s where I draw the line. Aggressively. That’s aggressively where I draw the line,” she explained. This marks a significant moment in her parenting journey, as she has breastfed each of her three older daughters for approximately seven to eight months.

In discussing her choices, Kelce emphasized the importance of open conversations around topics like breastfeeding. She stated, “I’ve never breastfed a child past them getting teeth,” highlighting a common yet often unspoken aspect of motherhood. Kelce has been known to bring taboo subjects into the spotlight, and breastfeeding is no exception.

Previously, she offered a simple yet effective piece of advice for those around breastfeeding mothers: “Act natural.” This underscores her commitment to fostering a supportive environment for mothers during their feeding journeys.

Kelce acknowledges that she has breastfed Finn longer than her other daughters. “Just to be clear, this is my choice. And it might not be the choice that other people make,” she affirmed. She expressed gratitude for being able to breastfeed, recognizing that not all mothers have the same opportunity. “Some people who want to cannot, so it’s important to recognize that,” she added.

As she prepares to introduce formula to Finn, she recalls her experience with her eldest daughter, Wyatt, who is now six years old and learning to read and write. This serves as a reminder that feeding choices do not determine a child’s development.

Kelce’s candidness about her breastfeeding journey extends to her feelings about outside opinions. “Anyone who has an opinion about how I choose to go about my breastfeeding journey, and therefore my formula-fed journey, you can kindly get f—–,” she stated emphatically. She concluded with a powerful reminder, “fed is best. Let me say it one more time for emphasis: fed is best.”

Through her openness, Kylie Kelce encourages a broader acceptance of diverse parenting choices, reinforcing the idea that every mother’s journey is unique.
