KoMiCo has officially opened a new semiconductor production facility in Mesa, Arizona, marking a significant expansion in the global semiconductor landscape. The new 125,000-square-foot center is dedicated to advanced services in semiconductor equipment parts cleaning, coating, and repair. This development not only establishes KoMiCo’s third location in the United States but also represents its tenth facility worldwide, demonstrating a strong commitment to the growing tech sector in the region.
Job Creation and Local Impact
The Mesa facility is set to create an initial 50 jobs, with expectations of increasing that number to 200 over the next few years. KoMiCo’s strategic location near major semiconductor manufacturers enables the company to respond swiftly to industry needs. According to James Jin, CEO of KoMiCo America, “We’re proud to create new jobs, invest in local capabilities, and build a foundation that supports U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and our employees for years to come.”
This new investment exceeds $60 million and incorporates the latest cleanroom technology and diagnostic tools. The facility aims to keep pace with rapid advancements in semiconductor manufacturing, particularly in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and sub-1nm technology nodes. The focus on precision and cleanliness is critical for minimizing downtime in fabrication tool operations.

Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, noted that KoMiCo’s significant commitment underscores why Arizona has become a premier destination for semiconductor investment. She stated that the facility “highlights why Arizona has become the premier destination in the U.S. for semiconductor investment.”
KoMiCo, a subsidiary of the MiCo group, operates alongside sister companies such as MiCo Ceramics and MiCo Ltd, which supply essential raw materials for its operations. This interconnected structure enhances MiCo’s overall strength in the semiconductor industry. Local leadership, including Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman and Vice Mayor Scott Somers, has expressed strong support for the new facility, with Freeman stating that KoMiCo’s commitment is a testament to Mesa’s strategic standing in the industry.
