Wrestler Kofi Kingston, a member of the popular tag team New Day, has expressed his enthusiasm for the recent expansion efforts by WWE. In a recent interview with the Battleground Podcast, Kingston highlighted several strategic moves the company has made, including introducing in-ring sponsorships and hosting more Premium Live Events (PLEs) in international markets.

Kingston believes these initiatives are long overdue, stating, “We are in such a special time right now. WWE has always been about expanding, but in the past year and a half, we have really sunk our teeth into everything we can.” He specifically pointed out the addition of advertisements in the ring, such as the Slim Jim tables and Prime station, as examples of innovative engagement with audiences. “These are ways of interacting, and it’s really, really cool,” he added.

The global reach of WWE has also excited Kingston, particularly the numerous international shows held this year. He noted events like Clash in Paris and the upcoming Crown Jewel in Australia, emphasizing that the worldwide fan base deserves live events. “We are doing our best to get all over the world and get in front of our biggest fans,” Kingston remarked.

Another aspect of WWE’s strategy that Kingston applauds is the collaboration with other wrestling promotions, including TNA Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA. Following WWE’s acquisition of AAA earlier this year, the two organizations will co-host a significant event, Worlds Collide, in Las Vegas on September 12, 2023. Kingston, alongside his New Day partner Xavier Woods, is set to compete for the AAA Tag Team titles against Psycho Clown and Pagano.

He expressed his excitement for this unique opportunity, saying, “Like you were saying, the collaborations with different companies. With AAA, who would have ever thought? Getting to wrestle for the AAA Tag Team titles is going to be amazing at Worlds Collide.” Kingston is eager to potentially add more gold to the New Day’s collection.

Fans can catch the Worlds Collide event live on YouTube, with coverage available in both English and Spanish, starting at 22:00 Eastern Time. The event will feature a highly anticipated main event match between El Hijo del Vikingo and Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship.

As WWE continues to push boundaries and explore new markets, Kingston’s support underscores the importance of innovation and global engagement in professional wrestling.
