Kanye West made an unexpected appearance at a comedy show featuring Deon Cole at the Hollywood Improv on December 27, 2023. During the event, West confirmed that he is working on a new album, much to the delight of the audience.

Deon Cole shared highlights from the evening on his Instagram account, posting a video clip where he introduced West to the crowd as “a good friend.” Cole expressed gratitude for West’s presence, and the two shared a light-hearted exchange about the performance. Cole jokingly asked if West had been holding back his laughter, which prompted a smile from the rapper and cheers from the audience.

When Cole inquired about any upcoming projects, West simply stated, “New album,” eliciting an enthusiastic response from the attendees. Cole then humorously requested to feature on an interlude of the album, to which West agreed, before leaving the stage.

This surprise appearance follows West’s performance at Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus show in Japan on November 8, where he captivated fans at the Belluna Dome in Tokorozawa. In fan-recorded footage, West was seen removing a mask during his set, which included his well-known track “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” Scott supported West during this unannounced performance, contributing to the excitement of the event.

Looking ahead, West is set to headline the new Hellwatt Festival in Italy, which will take place at the RCF Arena over three weekends from July 4 to July 18, 2026. This announcement comes nearly two years after the complicated discussions surrounding the live presentation of his joint album, Vultures, with Ty Dolla $ign. Although there was no concert, a listening party was held at the Unipol Forum in Milan and the Unipol Arena in Bologna in February 2024.

As anticipation builds for West’s new album and upcoming performances, fans remain eager for more updates on his creative endeavors.
