BREAKING: Comedian Jon Reep, winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2007, has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors. Authorities in Catawba County, North Carolina, took Reep into custody on September 5, 2025, following a disturbing cyber tip received on April 15, 2025.

The tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted investigators to child sexual abuse material linked to an account associated with Reep. Authorities executed a search warrant at the location of the IP address, seizing electronic devices for forensic analysis. A grand jury subsequently indicted Reep on one felony count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and nine felony counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor on September 2, 2025. The alleged victims are reported to be children ranging from ages 1 to 14.

Following his arrest, Reep posted a $260,000 secured bond and was released from the Catawba County Detention Facility. His next court appearance is set for September 8, 2025. The charges have already disrupted his touring schedule, with a performance in Goldsboro on September 5 rescheduled and a show in Dothan on September 14 canceled, prompting refunds for ticket holders.

Reep is well-known for his comedic work, including his memorable role in Dodge Ram’s “Hemi” commercials and appearances on hit shows like Eastbound & Down and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Neighbors and former classmates have expressed shock over the allegations. One local resident told WSOC-TV, “It blows my mind that that would be actually something he did.”

As of now, it remains unclear whether Jon Reep has entered a plea or secured legal representation. This developing story will continue to evolve as more information becomes available. Readers are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on this urgent matter.
