Huawei has officially unveiled the Mate XTs, its second-generation trifold smartphone, now available for order in China. This latest model introduces stylus support and new color options while maintaining a competitive price point compared to its predecessor.

The most notable enhancement is the incorporation of stylus functionality for the 10.2-inch folding screen, which can be adjusted to 7.9-inch and 6.4-inch formats. While the display remains largely unchanged, the addition of the stylus aims to improve user interaction and creativity.

In terms of specifications, the Mate XTs features the new Kirin 9020 chipset and an upgraded 40-megapixel ultrawide camera, promising enhanced performance and photography capabilities. Alongside the previously available black and red models, consumers can now choose from white and purple versions, all finished in imitation leather.

The pricing for the Mate XTs starts at 17,999 Chinese yuan (approximately $2,520), which represents a decrease from the original Mate XT’s price of 19,999 yuan (around $2,800). This earlier model, when launched outside China, was priced at €3,499 (roughly $4,070), making the new model a more appealing option for potential buyers.

The introduction of the Mate XTs comes at a time when Huawei is ahead in the trifold market, as competitors like Samsung are expected to release their initial models soon.

Alongside the Mate XTs, Huawei has also announced the launch of the MatePad Mini tablet, Freebuds 7i earbuds, and a new range of MateTV products, indicating a broader strategy to diversify its product offerings and enhance user experience across its devices.

As Huawei continues to innovate within the smartphone industry, the Mate XTs represents a step forward while remaining mindful of cost, catering to a market that increasingly values functionality alongside affordability.
