URGENT UPDATE: The Greenville Eastern North Carolina (ENC) Alliance has just announced the promotion of David Horn to Vice President of Operations and Strategic Partnerships. This significant leadership change comes as the organization gears up for its ambitious economic development initiatives.
Horn, who joined the organization in August 2020 as the Director of Strategic Partnerships, has played a crucial role in shaping the alliance’s strategic direction. Josh Lewis, President and CEO of the Greenville ENC Alliance, praised Horn’s dedication: “Over the last five years, David has exemplified the characteristics that are vital for our success. This promotion recognizes his key role in guiding our organization forward.”
In his new role, Horn will oversee the administrative functions for the Board of Directors, manage the municipal grants program, and ensure the organization’s information technology systems are up to date. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “I’m committed to supporting our operational effectiveness and the growth of our strategic partnerships.”
Under Horn’s leadership, the alliance has welcomed a record number of private sector investors, raising over $4,800,000 in pledges for its FY 2024-2029 capital campaign. A total of 111 private sector supporters have committed to enhancing economic development activities in the Greenville-Pitt County area.
Horn has also been instrumental in creating community-driven initiatives, such as the Better Skills, Better Jobs career fair, which has grown to host over 130 employers and 1,500 job seekers annually. His impact extends beyond this event as he collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure community growth.
In related news, the Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC) has received five consecutive Public Power Awards of Excellence from ElectriCities of North Carolina. This recognition highlights the organization’s commitment to community service and operational excellence. Additionally, the Winterville Chamber of Commerce has welcomed new members to its Board of Directors, including Lisa Wilson, April Kelly, and Jared Taunton, who all bring diverse backgrounds and expertise to the chamber.
