Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania have officially kicked off their 2026 cookie season, introducing a new flavor while celebrating the organization’s rich history. The recent launch features Exploremores, a rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookie, marking a significant addition to the beloved cookie lineup.

The Exploremores cookie consists of chocolate cookies filled with marshmallow and toasted almond-flavored crème. This new offering aims to embody the spirit of exploration central to the Girl Scout mission. The annual cookie program represents the organization’s largest fundraiser, with proceeds directly supporting local troop activities, travel, service projects, and summer camp experiences.

Celebrating Tradition and Leadership

“This is a season many people look forward to for good reason,” said Kim E. Fraites-Dow, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. She highlighted that the cookie program does more than satisfy cravings; it plays a crucial role in building leadership and entrepreneurial skills among girls.

The 2026 cookie season holds particular significance as it coincides with America’s 250th anniversary. The organization is taking this opportunity to reflect on the origins of the Girl Scout Cookie, which began with the first known sale in Philadelphia in 1933. Local Girl Scouts baked and sold cookies at the Philadelphia Gas and Electric Company, a concept that gained national traction by 1936.

In addition to the new cookie, fans can enjoy classic favorites such as Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Adventurefuls, Lemonades, and Trefoils. The gluten-free option, Caramel Chocolate Chip, is also available. Most cookie varieties are priced at $6 per package, while the gluten-free option is offered at $7. Sales will continue until March 8, 2026.

How to Purchase Cookies

Consumers have several options for purchasing cookies. They can buy directly from local Girl Scouts, locate nearby booths, or order for shipment through the Girl Scout Cookie Finder. For updates throughout the season, shoppers can text COOKIES to 59618.

More information on how to purchase cookies or support local troops can be found at https://www.gsep.org/cookies. Additionally, girls in grades kindergarten through 12 who wish to participate can learn how to join or volunteer at https://www.gsep.org/join.

As the cookie season unfolds, each box sold represents more than just a treat; it fuels opportunities for the next generation of leaders while honoring a nearly century-old tradition that began in Philadelphia.
