UPDATE: The Gifting Forward Foundation has officially kicked off its second annual 12 Days of Gifting campaign, awarding $1,000 daily to 12 nonprofit organizations across the region. This year’s initiative, launched on December 1, 2023, significantly expands its reach to include nonprofits serving Atwood and Wichita, reflecting a deepening commitment to local communities.
Nonprofits in these areas are facing unprecedented challenges due to recent government funding disruptions caused by the ongoing government shutdown. With delayed funding and rising community needs, these organizations are stepping up to provide essential services. The Gifting Forward Foundation aims to support these vital efforts, recognizing the urgency of the current situation.
Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, the Gifting Forward Foundation has already pledged over $10 million to various causes and now holds assets exceeding $500,000. “Expanding this year’s campaign to include Atwood allowed us to support nonprofits in every community where we have strong roots,” said Dena Hiss, cofounder of the Foundation. “These organizations serve on the front lines during a time when resources are stretched and needs are growing.”
The 12 Days of Gifting campaign will highlight a new nonprofit recipient every business day until Christmas Eve, showcasing their critical work in fields such as food security, healthcare, education, crisis intervention, and economic development. This year’s recipients include:
