URGENT UPDATE: The community of Vinemont is mourning the loss of George Arnold Oden, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58 on January 30, 2026. His family has announced the funeral arrangements, set to take place on February 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Dewayne Harper, with burial following at Oden Ridge Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for February 4, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. at the same location.
George was born on February 9, 1967, to Vernon Arthur Oden and Carolyn Childers Oden. He is remembered as a beloved member of his family and community. He was preceded in death by his father, as well as brothers Arthur Oden and Jim Oden, and brother-in-law Steve Ryan.
Surviving family members include his mother, Carolyn, and sisters Sonya Ryan, Linda Webb (husband John), and Mary Jane Oden. He also leaves behind sister-in-law Doris Oden, along with several nieces and nephews, including Bradley Fields, Hannah Landis (husband Cody), Elizabeth Maxwell (husband Justin), and Ben Oden (wife Haley), as well as great-nieces and nephews.
This sudden loss has deeply affected the family, friends, and the entire Vinemont community, who are now coming together to honor George’s memory. The arrangements are being handled by Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, ensuring a respectful farewell to a cherished individual.
