UPDATE: Fox News has just announced a major overhaul of its weekend programming, introducing new shows featuring Kayleigh McEnany, Peter Doocy, and Jacqui Heinrich. This significant change comes as the network cancels its long-running program MediaBuzz, hosted by media veteran Howard Kurtz.

Beginning September 20, 2023, McEnany will take the reins of Saturday in America, airing from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Meanwhile, Doocy and Heinrich will rotate as hosts of a new show titled The Sunday Briefing, set to air at 11 a.m. on Sundays. The cancellation of MediaBuzz marks a significant shift, leaving no media criticism shows on television after CNN’s Reliable Sources was also canceled last year.

Kurtz expressed mixed feelings about the end of his program, stating, “I’m extraordinarily proud of the program, which was number one for over 12 years… but time marches on.” Following the cancellation, he will transition to serve as a political media analyst for Fox News.

The reconfiguration of Fox’s weekend lineup includes the appointment of Griff Jenkins as a permanent co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend, and the addition of Johnny Joey Jones and Tomi Lahren as permanent co-hosts of The Big Weekend Show, which will now expand to three hours from 5-8 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Each episode will feature four panelists discussing the week’s news, further enhancing the network’s offerings.

Fox News Media president & editor-in-chief Jay Wallace emphasized the intent behind the changes, stating, “As we expand and innovate our weekend programming, we are proud to bring our audience unrivaled depth and expertise.” This new lineup represents a departure from Fox’s traditional consistency in programming, signaling a bold new direction for the network.

These developments come on the heels of a recent overhaul of Fox’s weekday primetime shows earlier this year, following the departure of prominent host Tucker Carlson. The changes indicate Fox’s commitment to evolving its content and maintaining its status as a leader in news and opinion.

Viewers can expect an engaging and dynamic weekend lineup, with the introduction of fresh faces and perspectives. Stay tuned for more updates as these changes unfold.
